OVERVIEW
Actor trainer/director Sinéad Rushe and vocal coach Hannah Benjamin re-investigate the art of transformation and how we might think of characterisation as a work of art. Working from the idea that the character is not a version of ourselves, but someone else whom the actor creates from scratch, this workshop recuperates the craft of acting as an act of invention and originality.
Hannah originally trained as an actor at the prestigious Atlantic Acting School in New York City with David Mamet, and has had an extensive career working in theatre and film, working with directors such as Anne Bogart and William H Macy. She has completed an MA in Voice Studies at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, is a master Chuck Jones voice work teacher and a specialist in Fitzmaurice voice. Her accent work is based in Knight Thompson Speech Work with influence from Sharpe/Howles. She has taught at Tisch NYU, Sarah Lawrence New York, Central, Mountview and at RADA.
Hannah has collaborated with Sinéad as voice coach on her productions at Central.
